People become a member of The Cake Decorators’ Guild of NSW Inc. (known as CDG) for a variety of reasons. But the bottom line is that we want to learn new skills, improve existing ones or share the knowledge that has been learnt over time, this can be done by attending branch meetings.
At these meetings you will watch demonstrations by members from either your own branch or one of our other branches, Or it may be a workshop where you are hands-on under the guidance of the guest demonstrator. You could be learning piping techniques or creating a cute cake topper. Maybe learn to create a realistic flower or how to cover a cake to get that professional finish. There is always lots to learn or improve on.
As mentioned earlier, people join for a variety of reasons,
share the knowledge you have acquired over the years
get the skills to make a cake for a special occasion
learn something new
meet people with the same interest
socialise with people in your area
Attend bi-annual (every 2nd year) Conference & Competition held over 3 days.
Our Aims & Objectives: -
Promote & encourage interest in cake decorating
Improve cake decorating standards
Up to-date Judging Standards
